SUMMARY:Working within the Digital Hands' Security Operations
Center (SOC), the Network Security Administrator III is the most
senior subject matter expert on the Network Security Administration
team. This individual specializes in and is responsible for a broad
range of tasks, including: the day-to-day administration of
information security tools and devices, advanced support for
systems and applications, handling of Move/Add/Change/Delete
requests and primary liaisons for vendor support on behalf of the
customer related to the delivery of Digital Hands' Managed
Firewall, SIEM, Endpoint, Vulnerability Management, and E-mail
Security services. This position is a senior technical role,
requiring a high level of hands-on experience, including a thorough
understanding of all aspects of computer, network, and application
security. The right candidate must possess proven experience
implementing and maintaining a variety of technologies such as:
- Routers/Switches (e.g. Cisco)
- Host/Network Intrusion Prevention Systems (e.g. Cisco,
McAfee)
- Security Information and Event Management appliances (e.g.
Securonix, FortiSiem, AlienVault, Qradar)
- EDR and XDR applications (Carbon Black, SentinelOne,
Crowdstrike)
- Cloud Security (e.g Azure, AWS)DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assignment of duties as designated by special project
scope.
- Participate in professional engagement activities related to
Digital Hands' Managed Firewall, SIEM, Endpoint, Vulnerability
Management, and E-mail Security services.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal departments
to deliver security solutions.
- Train members of the Network Security Admin II team.
- Support and act as a senior member of an incident response
team.
- Maintain health and performance of security solutions.
- Implement all Digital Hands services following the best
practices defined by Security Operations Engineers.
- Provide feedback to Security Engineers and management on
process and methodology improvements.
- Configure security systems, analyze security requirements, and
recommend improvements.
- Apply latest security patches and ensure proper defenses are
implemented.
- Optimize customer network and security postures.
- Perform security assessments and vulnerability scans.
- Create alerts within solutions to trigger operational events or
actions.
- Create alerts within monitoring solutions to trigger health and
performance alerts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; or
equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Security Administration, preferably
working within an MSSP.
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology role.
- Proven experience implementing, maintaining, and writing
policies within technologies such as firewalls, SIEMs, Load
Balancers, and HIPS/NIPS.
- Operating systems knowledge and systems administration skills
for various versions of UNIX, LINUX, and Windows and Windows
Server.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, Network+,
Security+, SANS/GIAC (GSEC) a plus.
- Strong knowledge of policies, procedures, audits, and risk
management.
- Deep understanding of network and security protocols (SSL, DNS,
IPSEC, NAT, etc.).
- Experience in information security, ideally in multi-platform
environments preferred.
- Experience with analyzing security attacks and exploits.
- Experience with SD-WAN and SASE.
- Basic understanding of programming concepts and code.
- Access Control Concepts, Methodologies, and Techniques.
- Experience in the evaluation of new technology and security
threats as they arise.
- Familiarity with information security best practices.
- Demonstrated documentation skills including creation of project
metric reports and the creation of communication plans and change
