Roche to acquire the Vacaville manufacturing facility, we are now
looking to recruit an Associate Director, Project Delivery for the
Vacaville site! This position is not remote or hybrid; therefore,
the candidate will be required to be onsite during the work
week.The Project Delivery Associate Director is assigned to one or
multiple specific investment projects and is responsible for
planning, managing, and executing investment projects through the
complete project pathway (on time, within budget, meeting required
quality standards). The role provides leadership to the project
team(s), builds, and maintains relationships with vendors and
contractors. This is an engineering discipline role. You will have
cross interaction with validation engineers, facility management,
and operations; mitigate risks and ensure compliance with
regulations and legal requirements.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute project plans - Responsible for creating
and implementing project plans that will meet the project's
objectives through the Engineering, Design, Construction,
Commissioning, and Qualification phases.
- Manage project budgets - Ensure that the project stays within
budget and manage any changes to the budget.
- Ensure safety, quality & compliance - Ensure that the project
meets the required HSE and quality standards according to internal
procedures and specifications as well as health authority
requirements.
- Coordinate project teams - Responsible for coordinating and
managing the work of project teams to ensure that everyone is
working together efficiently.
- Monitor project progress - Regularly monitor the project's
progress to ensure that it's on track and identify any potential
issues.
- Ensure compliance with regulations - Ensure that the project
complies with all relevant regulations and legal requirements.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies -
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to manage
them.
- Communicate project status - Communicate the project's
progress, status, and issues to stakeholders, including senior
management, including presenting updates at Steering Committee
meetings and at the monthly GE results call.
- Manage project resources - Responsible for managing project
resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and
contractors, including architectural and engineering firms, EPCM
Partners, and suppliers - Establish and maintain relationships with
vendors and contractors to ensure they provide high-quality work
and meet project timelines.Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical
engineering, or electrical engineering or related science
discipline.
- Fluent in Spanish is highly preferred.
- Highly experienced in project engineering and project
management for chemical, biochemical, and life sciences
industries.
- Broad technical knowledge of the Various Engineering
Disciplines in the life sciences environment, both on clean and
black utilities, process, automation, instrumentation, and civil
engineering.
- Task-oriented person who is very comfortable working towards
set objectives and has a track record of achieving results in this
regard.
- Proven experience in cost control and scheduling related to
investment projects.
- Experience in engineering aspects of facility design to build a
compliant yet cost-effective plant.
- Knowledge of modern CQV approaches to minimize the time from
construction completion to routine production while maintaining
compliance.
- Excellent knowledge of computer systems (i.e., Microsoft Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
- Good understanding of how the CDMO industry/business
works.
- Experience at working both independently and in a
team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
- Effective influencing skills. Ability to communicate to varying
levels and functions of the organization.
- Strong collaborative mindset.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and coach direct reports and
teams with or without direct line responsibility.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to balance multiple
priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to solve problems, understanding details and strategic
picture, providing practical solutions.
- Strong experience in Engineering and cGMP Manufacturing of
chemical and biological APIs.This position is contingent upon
Lonza's successful completion of the acquisition of the site
located in Vacaville, California (the "Closing"), currently
anticipated to occur in H2, 2024. If the Closing is delayed for any
reason, Lonza may delay the start date up to sixty (60) days.Every

difference.The full-time base annual salary for this position is
expected to range between $175,500.00 and $204,750.00. Compensation
for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the
successful candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies,
experience, and job-related knowledge. Full-time employees receive
