the Role:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Security &
DevOps Engineer to join our expanding team. Reporting directly to
the Co-Founder and CTO, this role is based in our Palo Alto office.
As a key contributor, you will be responsible for implementing and
enhancing security controls across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure,
GCP) to strengthen the overall security of our infrastructure. Your
responsibilities will include conducting cloud-specific penetration
testing to identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and
insecure APIs, followed by implementing effective remediation
strategies. You'll also maintain and improve automation scripts
using tools like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline cloud
security processes, including vulnerability scanning and
monitoring.Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security
teams to integrate security measures into the entire software
development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Automate security testing processes, such as Continuous
Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline security checks,
to identify vulnerabilities early in development.
- Monitor cloud environments for vulnerabilities and potential
threats using advanced security tools, ensuring proactive
defence.
- Develop security and incident response plans tailored to cloud
environments to ensure rapid response to security incidents.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and root cause analysis to
improve response strategies and reduce future risks.
- Research and stay up-to-date with the latest cloud security
threats, technologies, and best practices to ensure we remain to
latest threats.
- Secure containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes,
and manage cloud-native security solutions.
- Implement security controls aligned with compliance frameworks
such as CIS, NIST, and ISO 27001 in cloud infrastructures.
- Communicate complex security issues to both technical and
non-technical stakeholders, providing actionable insights and
solutions.
- Maintain and advance professional knowledge through relevant
security certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty,
OSCP, or GCIH (preferred).Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI,
Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (Masters
preferred).
- Technical expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and
Google Cloud, focusing on security services like AWS IAM, Security
Groups, VPC, and Azure Main Vault.
- Experience conducting penetration testing using cloud-specific
tools like Prowler and ScoutSuite, as well as general security
tools like Burp Suite, Metasploit, or Nessus.
- Experience developing automation scripts in Python, Bash, and
PowerShell to streamline security monitoring, testing, and incident
handling workflows.
- History performing incident response and digital forensics in
cloud environments, using logs from AWS CloudTrail and Azure
Monitor to track and mitigate security incidents.
- Experience with prompt engineering, generative AI and utilizing
search and AI APIs to build applications.
- Interest or background in legal tech application
development.
- Prior engagement in early-stage AI startups.

yearThe posted salary range is based on our research for companies
of our stage and size while in compliance with California law.
However, this is just a base compensation range and we would
