Position SummaryAt KIPP Public Schools Northern California,
there is a need for intensive English Language support for all of
our multilingual learners and for reading intervention. The ELD
teacher reports to the School Leader and will facilitate language
instruction using research-based standards-aligned curriculum.

institution
- Hold a valid teaching credential or be in the process of
securing oneThis is a school-based role and the expectation is to
be onsite 5 days a week.Preferred Qualifications
- Hold a B.A/B.S degree from a regionally accredited
institution
- Meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
- Hold a valid teaching credential in the subject of your desired
role, or
- Eligibility for a General Education Limited Assignment Permit,
or
- Eligibility for a Provisional Internship Permit, or
- Eligibility for a Short Term Staff Permit
- Experience as an educator teaching Black and Brown students for
one or more years (preferred)
- Spanish speaking (preferred)Essential Functions and
ResponsibilitiesLead an academically rigorous classroom through
activities such as:
- Develop lesson plans for English language arts and English
language development
- Teach curricula aligned to ELD standards and Common Core ELA
standards
- Support and coach teachers on how to integrate ELD into their
core content areas
- Assess and analyze students' performance and progress to ensure
they are mastering developmental skills regularly, and responding
to data to support all scholars to achieve academic success
- Build Relationships with our students, passionate staff, and
committed families by:
- Maintain an open line of communication with families
- Work to maintain a positive culture on campus by building
strong relationships with students and staff members
- Successfully strike a balance of warm and demanding in your
communication with students
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior for a
productive learning environment during class sessionsPhysical,
Mental and Environmental DemandsPhysical: Ability to navigate
school and classroom settings. Ability to access and utilize
technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 1-20 lbs.
Physical agility to move self in various positions in order to
execute duties effectively, which may include kneeling, walking,
pushing/pulling, squatting, twisting, turning, bending, stooping
and reaching overhead.Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work
standards, ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives,
work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time,
read, calculate, perform routine math problems, memorize and recall
objects and people.Environmental: School and classroom environment
subject to constant interruptions and distractions. Adhere to
KIPP's health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC, CDE,
and public health agencies' recommendations.ClassificationThis is a
full-time, exempt position on a school year calendar cycle, located
